History and Mission

America’s Boating Club Clearwater is a squadron of the United States Power Squadrons, which was founded in 1914. Our Clearwater chapter has been serving the community since 1948, and we are proud members of District 22. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are part of a national organization of nearly 20,000 members in over 300 squadrons dedicated to boating education and safety.

Located in the heart of Florida’s Gulf Coast, we serve boaters on Tampa Bay, the Intracoastal Waterway, and the Gulf of Mexico. Our modern classroom facilities at Belcher Commons Office Park feature 4K Ultra HD monitors and comprehensive teaching aids, providing an exceptional learning environment for all our courses.

Most members walk in for a boating course and stay for everything that comes after: social cruises, monthly gatherings, vessel safety checks, civic service, and a crew of experienced boaters who are always happy to help. The courses are just the beginning. We emphasize boating skills and safety education while building a vibrant community of boaters.

We provide Coast Guard and NASBLA recognized boating education to thousands of boaters every year, from beginners to advanced captains.

Safety Programs

Free vessel safety checks help boaters meet federal and state safety requirements, keeping our waters safer for everyone.

Community Service

Our members volunteer for boating safety patrols, community events, and civic service projects throughout the year.
